Terms of Use

Last updated:

These terms cover your use of Sedecordle Wordle. By playing, you agree to them. They are short on purpose.

Using the game

Sedecordle Wordle is free to play for personal use, as often as you like. Please don't try to disrupt the site, scrape it at high volume, copy it wholesale or present it as your own. Sharing results, screenshots and custom game links with friends is very welcome.

Content and licenses

The site design, text and code belong to Sedecordle Wordle. The word lists are built from openly licensed sources and are shared under the licenses listed on the credits page; word meanings come from Wiktionary under CC BY-SA 4.0.

Fair play

Daily puzzles are the same for everyone in a language, which is what makes comparing results fun. Answer pages exist for players who want hints or missed a day; please don't post the full answers in places where other players will see them before they have played, such as public replies to someone's result.

Custom games

You are responsible for the words you put into a custom game and for where you share the link. Don't use custom games to send offensive, hateful or harassing messages. Links are not stored on our servers, so we can't edit or delete them for you once they have been shared.

No warranty

The game is provided as is. We do our best to keep it running and the word lists clean, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or that every word will suit every player. If you find a problem, please tell us.

Trademarks

Sedecordle Wordle is an independent fan game. It isn't affiliated with Wordle or The New York Times. Names of other games are used only to describe how Sedecordle Wordle compares with them.

Changes

We may update these terms when the game changes. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and continuing to play after a change means you accept the updated terms.
